FOLLOW 2022/2023

For ‘Sloterplas Swimmer’, Lin Woldendorp aimed to capture the tranquillity of the Sloterplas (the ‘Sloterpark Lake’), serving as a haven for its visitors who come and swim in its waters. The water connects them, turning the Sloterplas into a shared space where different communities come together. What common grounds-or common waters-do these swimmers share?

The series not only focuses on the swimmers themselves, but also on the atmosphere and interactions surrounding the lake. Through her photography, Woldendorp seeks to encapsulate the serenity and sense of community that characterise this place. The water acts as a mirror reflecting the diverse stories of the swimmers, simultaneously creating a collective experience that transcends individual backgrounds.
